    Are you puppying kidding me? Nobody is this dumb. I'm not lumping black audiences together. The "black demographic" is literally an actual thing in marketing. There are sub demographics to it, just as there are for any demographic. I'm shocked that you guys are actually this stupid. Like, honestly- every thing I'm saying is common sense that can be backed up with simple research. This is the dumbest conversation I've ever had. I feel like I'm trying to explain simple algebra to third graders. "Bu- but- but letters like 'x' and 'y' aren't numbers! Whaaaaaa." I'm so done with this website. Bite me.

    I don't have the time or the will to address all of that tonight, but when I said you were perpetuating an agenda... Well basically you are taking that entirely out of context. You aren't perpetuating the *straight white agenda* simply because you are straight, but rather because of the horrible and ignorant ideas you were presenting. I'll discuss this and the rest of that later. But honestly, I might as well be talking to a puppying brick wall. The ONLY reason our texts and this thread conversations went on for as long as they did was because I respected you and was hoping you'd at least TRY to understand what I was saying.     I feel like you honestly don't understand the concept of "oppressor vs oppressed." Yes, I'm complaining. I'm probably the 1 person complaining about this issue for every 1000+ people who are satisfied with this particular *statis quo*.     Here is a small list of net worth of a few successful Black entertainers who are not only part of, but primarily target, the Black demographic. Yes, some of these actors also target the *White* demographic, but yeah, primarily the Black demographic.

     

    Jamie Foxx- 85 million

    Eddy Murphy- 85 million

    Denzel Washington- 104 million

    Morgan Freeman- 150 million

    Samuel L Jackson- 170 million

    Will Smith- 200 million

    You don't think Tyler Perry is successful because you don't enjoy his films. But that's okay, you aren't part of the Black Demographic. These films are not intended for you. But with a net worth of $400 million, to deny his success is simply delusional. 

     

    The White Demographic is the biggest demographic in America, yes, i completely agree. But you can't discredit the success of minority demographics. To even imply that the Black demographic is a *fringe* demographic is completely absurd! The numbers don't lie. It's clearly a successful demographic to target. 

     

    EDIT- the fact that you even know who Tyler Perry is proof of his success. 'nuff said.

    • Straight White Guys: It's not racist. The reason why most characters are straight white guys is it's a business. They just want to do what makes the most money. No one's being racist or sexist. It's just smart business.
    • Straight White Guys: Having a Black Captain America or Pakistani Ms. Marvel or female Thor is PANDERING. All they're trying to do is get MONEY from you. It's just a marketing ploy! This is horrible!

    My actual point was, if Jesus (a real life human being) can be *whitewashed* so easily and without any complaints what-so-ever, than why is it such a huge deal when race is changed for fictional characters in various adaptations. It's hypocrisy!

    Historical whitewashing is pretty common. I would guess that a lot of Iconography for Jesus was changed when early Christians were trying to adopt roman ways in order for it to appeal better to them. Which worked, given down the line Rome became Christian. Same reason Saturnalia was merged into Christmas, and the Christmas tree and Yule Log, both Celtic traditions. Its almost kind of frustrating, but the alternative was being thrown to lions, so ya gotta do what ya gotta do.

    I mean, that's still doesn't justify it in today's modern media. (Ex, the last picture I posted)

    Also- "Exodus: Gods and Kings" (2014) A movie set in historical Egypt about Egyptians doing Egyptian things....

    Featuring an almost exclusively White cast. Haha.

     You can argue that Spider-Man could be any race, but Thor and Asgardians should be white.

    Like what if Apocalypse in Ancient Egypt in X-Men Apocalypse was like, an Asian?

     

    I'm not trying to start an argument, especially one on a conversation that's over. But I was talking about this with a friend and they brought up an excellent point that I cant just let slip by.

    Has anyone here heard of or used the Secret app? It's pretty fun. It looks into your phone contacts- phone numbers, email addresses, and Facebook contacts- and anonymously adds anyone who has the app to your "friends list". And by *anonymously* i mean it seriously doesn't tell you who has been added. Your friends list is just a number, no names are provided. Then, with that in mind, you can posts "secrets" that your friends can see (and if they like it, their friends can see it too. rinse and repeat until your secret has been seen "across the globe" lol) but, like i said, they wont see who posted it. You can even comment on the secrets which will create like a thread for the post. If you post on the thread, your name and info is still hidden and you are represented by a unique avatar that changes in every thread. So like, you can post multiple times in a thread as "red owl" and people will recognize red owl as the same person. But if when you post in a different thread, you might be represented as "blue spade" or whatever. I like that cause you can keep a conversation going, but you cant actually follow someone from secret to secret. 

     

    I have a bunch of you on Facebook and in my phone, so you guys should totally join. I mean, it's kinda stupid, but so is every fun app in my opinion. It might even be fun to try to guess who posted what in the Wild West board. But obviously i wouldn't suggest discussing serious secrets outside of the app.

     

    Also, i feel i should warn you a bit. there has a bit of a hacker problem within it's community. very small spouts but, yeah i wouldn't post anything that might get you in real trouble, such as personal info or stuff like "im gonna kill ____ for reals!" haha.
