In a way they are; they're the lowest of the warriors in an all female group since all dark elves are female.

we don't actually know that all Dark Elves are female. I assume that their race parallels regular Elves, which, if you play some side quests and befriend Archer Trainer Adeline, you learn that there are male Elves, they are just very rare and few in number, since they don't reproduce sexually.
