If I were president, I'd remove some of the luxuries of being the president or any other member of the government, In my opinion, If government positions were less appealing, then less corrupt people would want to be in the government.

Well, I'm ready to be hated. I would not socialize anything. I would Provide Government healthcare only to those of retirement age, those under the age of 18, and those on disability who are not able to work for a true reason, that must be proven by a government liason. (physicals bi-weekly, so on). Raise taxes on the rich, cut them on the pooerest 15%. I would then propsoe and over see a bill in the US Congress to remove speculation form Oil Futures (I.E.-most oil prices will jump if Morgan Stanley says so, and just because they say so). I would not pull out of Iraq immediatly, I would reduce troops to just a security and training faculty. And then as soon as Iraq has a working government, democratic or not, leave thm to themselves to do as tey please. As for abortion, there is no legal precedent to make it illeagal, there is no scientific proof that life starts at conception, and not everyone in this country is Christian or any other religion. As far as this coutry goes, the current precedent is that A fetus has no rights until it can sustain itself outside of the mother's womb. Meaning that about the third trimester, possibly a part of the second. That being said, i wouldlike to limit to only first trimester abortions, and allow doctors to refuse the procedure on a moral basis. I would also do as much as possible to increase government projects, a la great depression style. Start using America's unemployed and homeless to do big projects across the country, thereby supplying them with money, healthcare, a ob, and a sense of worth. I don't believe in handouts, a socialized system creates no pride n one's work and decreases the value of the person across the board. Allow everyone an avenue to heatlhcare through work they can take ownership of, and you will create a better, more healthy and proud America.

What? That doesn't make any sense. Decrease regulation on what? Conglomarates? The US already has a free market. In fact, I think the lack of regulation is part of what is hurting the economy right now. Lowering taxes would be useless if you decreased regulation. The people would get more money but it would just get sucked up by big business, and the people would never get it back.

If I were president I would legalize child porn, start the first business in that industry, and capitalize on it. $$$!

in that sense, it may be socializing, but I wouldn't hand out anything to anyone, such as healthcare. A government under me would have no handouts without reciprocation. No universal healthcare, no universal handouts, what you get reflects the work you do and what you earn. Socialism and communism work great on paper, but won't work in the real world without eliminating greed, self worth and pride.
