Day over. Lynch reached. Update later.

I want pheos theory to be right so much. I was thinking earlier that everyone having blocking roles is like everyone policing each other until nobody can do anything at all. Killing is even triggering in this game, technically. Like I'm the only person reporting any activity by a potential wolf, and now I'm dubious of even that, because of the terminology.
Our votes are accusations of privilege, and so if the majority agrees, it becomes accepted fact, and as far as we're concerned we made the right call, even if they didn't start the game with that alignment (we all considering ourselves brave). Like, once our minds are made up, we won't be like "wait no, they were brave". From that point on we remain convinced of our judgement, and as long as its the majority consensus then nobody will doubt that who we just eliminated deserved it. This is a moral battle, not a real one.
As cool as that would be and all though, probably better to assume it's a normal game.

Cirt's a good lynch. You spend too long thinking about this game and you start jumpimg at shadows, as is the case with me.
Teto caught Cirt in an inconsistency without an alibi. He's put in a bit more work than other players and deserves the benefit of the doubt. It's as good a lynch as any. We still need a hammer though.

how do you feel about that lynch Pheo? Are you going to help is out?
  4. SilverAlchemic added a post in a topic PRIVILEGEWOLF (written and directed by LL)

This is getting ridiculous. I can't seriously believe that there are so many blockers, but with the amount of claims, it becomes reputable by ludicrousness. "Yeah, let's give them all blocking roles, that way they just talk a lot and never get anything done. Like real SJWs!" It becomes believable only as a dumb joke.

Our best bet might become an inactivity lynch, against someone who hasn't even posted in the thread yet. For now, though, I'm gonna stick with Cirt.

Like, I know I said "I'd read up on what happened and then weigh in" and never said anything. That was stupid of me, I got distracted by TF2 and spaceships. I only threw my vote around on day one because nobody was talking and I wanted everyone to wake up and get in the game, but now that we're all here and awake I don't have to do that. But now that I see all these blocking roles I honestly don't even want to vote for anyone. I just want to see what happens.
Whats your game, LL? Are we the town capable of blocking the wolves, but since we cant organize to defeat the oppressors, we just randomly fight and block amongst ourselves, leaving the wolves to attack whoever they want and can get away with? And making us blame each other? Is that the lesson here? The oppressed must unite in order to defeat the oppressors? Am I reading this incorrectly?
EDIT: OH SHIT I thought my post was going to merge with my previous post but ganny ninja'd me
  6. Ganny added a post in a topic PRIVILEGEWOLF (written and directed by LL)

Maybe this is LL making a social commentary. Like, no one is privileged after all, and we're just fighting and killing our allies, accusing and defending each other for no reason. We were so afraid of being triggered that we literally murdered our friends
  7. pheonix561 added a post in a topic New Smashbros Discussion Thread

Yeah, even games that are direct sequels to each other can have wildly different mechanics. Path of Radiance didn't let you choose what your character's class leveled into, but would sometimes let you choose things like, in the case of mages, letting them use either priest's staves or knives(always use staves who the puppy puts knives on a wizard). Or a cavalier might only be capable of using swords, but when they level up they can learn a new weapon, and that could be either axes, lances, or bows. Things like that.
Then Radiant Dawn rolls around, and suddenly you don't have any control over your character classes, but they level up twice instead of once. So your soldier unit could turn into a halberdier, and then again into a sentinel, if I remember my classes correctly. Or a Fighter turns into a Warrior turns into a Reaver. A Myrmidon into a Swordmaster into a Trueblade.
And it's always just crazy new mechanics like that. Awakening let you change people classes sideways. And now there's this crazy new bullshit with no classes altogether and a completely overhauled weapons triangle??? I honestly can't fathom it.
  8. pheonix561 added a post in a topic PRIVILEGEWOLF (written and directed by LL)

Okay, you know what this is getting really weird. I didn't want to say anything but I have a blocking role, too, that I was prevented from using because I was blocked. I'm beginning to think we all have blocking roles and the only way anyone is going to die in this game is by lynching. It almost makes me want to not kill anyone tonight, just to see if people getting blocked keeps happening. Maybe the lesson is if we keep blocking the same people at night and don't lynch each other during the day then.... I don't know???? We play this game forever?????

Don't worry Ganny, I still am
But that would be another paragraph of conjecture, and I'm already puppyed up enough with the uncertainty of truth and reason as it is. I'm just trying to grasp onto common sense before my thoughts lose their composure and become a formless mush.

(to reiterate on my involvement in the events last night, I have no night action and so was not involved in the events last night. As far as I know, no one blocked or targeted or did anything to me)
Edit: also please be more suspicious of me in the long run. thanks

I co-officiated my first funeral yesterday
This has, without a doubt, been the most difficult week of my life. I've barely slept or eaten since Saturday, flown between Fort Worth and San Antonio twice, driven down to San Antonio once, and I still had to do a final and a paper in the midst of everything that's been happening. Here's the story.
Saturday night, around 1 AM, I got a phone call from a good friend of mine, a guy who I've known since I was about 8. He was calling because my lifelong best friend, who I'd been inseparable from since we were 2, had passed away in his sleep the previous night. I'd left the bedroom to take that call, and I couldn't quite make it back before my legs quit working, so my wife, who was woken up by my commotion, had to come get me out of the hallway. She called my parents, who also hadn't heard, and they bought me a plane ticket for the next morning. I got maybe an hour of sleep. I came down, spent time with friends, my family, and my friend's family, and they treated me like one of their own. I'm not an emotional person usually, but this was like something had been unexpectedly cut out of me, like I'd just lost a brother. I stayed with them all day, and I flew back home on Monday night because I had a final on Tuesday. It was terrible, but I feel like I did well. I drove back down on Wednesday morning (about 4 hours) and my wife flew after she got off work, and we went to the visitation that night.
I was terrified going into that funeral home. I'd never been to an open casket visitation before, and I certainly wasn't prepared to do so for my best friend, but I was surprisingly more troubled by the slideshow of pictures outside than by the body, probably because it didn't really look like him. The pictures reminded me of the 20 years we'd spent together in a way that his body could not.
I decided on Wednesday, before the visitation, to agree to co-officiate the funeral service and to lead the graveside service myself. This got complicated, as I was also a pallbearer, but it seemed like the best thing I could do for his family. I was worried about this going in because my body had been continuously rebelling since Saturday: I had a constant headache, it felt like I was being stabbed in the stomach, and I absolutely could not stop shaking. But when I led the family into the sanctuary, when I walked onto the chancel, when I read the eulogy at the lectern, when I led the family out and carried the casket down to the hearse, and even when I stood by my friend's grave, I knew that this was how I could help everyone. This was the only part of my grieving process I'd been trained for, and it was the part that I knew about already.
My words helped the family, they helped his friends, and they helped me. I cried the entire time I was writing them, because I process emotions best through words, but when I was in front of everyone, serving as a pastor and a friend, I was comforted by the understanding that this was one of the most important things I had ever done. Maybe the most important. And when I was standing by the grave, with his closest friends and his family, my words flowed without hesitation or waver, and I was able to speak loudly without worry. This was, after all, what I was called to do.
So I co-officiated my first funeral yesterday, and it was for my best friend. It was the hardest thing I've ever done, and one of the most important.

    - i think you are town, telling the truth
-i think Cirt is town, telling the truth
-ive thought pheo is wolf, since day one
    - i think silver and t1g are different alignments

ive twisted a theory around these building blocks. Its probably a longshot.  I dont have the votes anymore to pull this theory though, and it sounds like the crazy ramblings of a madman, and our time is almost up. I guess if Cirt flips town, then it would seem less crazy, maybe? And if she's wolf, then yay.

Nobody has even died yet in this game, we are going to look back and laugh at ourselves once real evidence starts coming in.

    sorry cirt, :(.
    For the watch.
    Cirt

The Pheo and Silver conspiracy sounds like a longshot. Nothing means anything though considering how easy it is to muddle facts with speculation and sensationalist theories. I'd buy the Pheo/Silver conspiracy, not because I believe it, but because if it's true then we have an easy lead on the next target.
It's strange that there are so many blockers though.
Anybody can be the wolf with the right line of baseless reasoning and exciting "what if"s. Cirt is the only person here who doesn't require a sensationalist reason for lynching. She was blocked, and has no alibi for it. It feels so much more natural to just stick to facts on this one, without having to risk it on conspiracy theories.
Every single game, someone makes some great theory of deception, letting the obvious target right under town's nose. I remember the relief as the wolf, and as the teammate of wolves, when we'd sit in the groupchat going "wow, really? I can't believe they let us get away with that."
If we killed pheo and he turned out to be town, what would that get us? "So much for that theory" we sigh as we're left with the "but Cirt could have done it, reasonably speaking" situation.
I'm sticking to Cirt, and damn these sensationalist theories. They just muddy the waters. It'd be great if it was like those crime dramas where the first suspect is never the true suspect, but I feel like that familiar formula messes with these games a lot. Theories are a waste of time when they rely on conjecture. The Sherlock quote approximately "you twist facts to suit theories when you should twist theories to suit facts."
I know how much sensationalist theories can puppy with your perception of reality. Even now, I'm sensationalizing the "battle against sensationalism" because I really don't want to let a good lead go unchecked. Instead we're creating leads to suit pet theories, because we're convinced things can't be so simple. It's madness.

    Pheo - Blocked by Silver
    Dong - Blocked by T1G
    Linox - ???
    Ganny - ?????
Teto - Blocked someone, I guess
Cirt - Was blocked by someone, we guess
Ganny would have said something by now. Linox hasn't. Wishing I hadn't defended Linox now, considering we'd then at least have all the information to work with, and I'd still have my one invulnerable defending action. I took a hit that was meant for Linox, doled out by Ganny, or Cirt, unless we don't trust the block claimers.
To lend further believablity to my role: killing in this game is "triggering". I defend people by standing up for them on their behalf. I can put up with people being dicks once, but if I have to deal with privileged people again, ie get attacked, then I'll be triggered and thus be out from the game.

    Thanks T1G, you're my hero.
Breaking my rule, and posting in light of this new information, because I'm an ass and can't shut up.  Cirt's claim is just so bizarrely sketchy and unnecessary to reveal if she were wolf that i just can't help but think she is town, and telling the truth. She's probably the cop, trying to get a read on Linox. Teto has been engaged and thinking critically, I also would be surprised if he was not town. Nobody else is claiming doctor, I believe him. Lets assume he is also telling the truth. The wolves know their attack failed, they know Teto is aware he stopped an attack. So they created an alibi for eachother. One wolf is claiming to block the other. I'm talking about Pheo and Silver. Silver didn't block Pheo last night, he blocked Cirt. And Pheo attacked Linox. He knew that Teto would be informed about an attack, so he had Silver cover for him. My conclusion: Cirt is innocent, Pheo is still wolf. It's a longshot, but im going with my gut here. doesn't anybody else get the impression that Silver and Pheo feel somewhat coordinated here?
  17. Teto added a post in a topic PRIVILEGEWOLF (written and directed by LL)

If I was making a kill action, someone would have had to block me anyway. And if I was attacking someone last night, the point of who my target was is moot, because I would have been blocked anyway. If someone comes forward to say they blocked me, then sure, I guess you can say that I'm a good candidate for the lynch. But nobody has. If someone does, they're lying, and you should kill them once I'm proven to be Brave.

sorry about the delay brodongo, Yeah i totally blocked you. Lots of people got blocked last night apparently
  19. Brodongo added a post in a topic PRIVILEGEWOLF (written and directed by LL)

You were a wolf, you claimed to be blocked on the first day, havent voted, and you have been a bit a quiet. That's all I meant, nothing more. That's all public information at this point since I released the night actions. maybe it's because your busy, i mean that all makes sense to me, but that's also a common alibi that wolves have used.

i think I'm going to ease up on posting now because i'm becoming a distraction from some more interesting topics.
I don't trust Teto enough yet to change my vote without something happening here:
    1) My blocker coming forward
    2) someone else claiming doctor
    3) pheo posts

  20. Cirt added a post in a topic PRIVILEGEWOLF (written and directed by LL)

Yeah, from what I just reread? He's lying. I think Teto is trying to cover his ass and say that someone else tried to "lethally" go after Linox when it was him.
What are the odds Teto is a wolf again though
l have no idea what to do but i went after someone that hadn't talked to try to find out more about them
sorry off topic but is this even allowed? Like you were the GM of that game and that gives you invaluable information about how people play. This is kind of inappropriate. I mentioned last game for the sole reason of looking at probability. How is this relevant to this game?
  21. Ganny added a post in a topic PRIVILEGEWOLF (written and directed by LL)

Are you saying that your action wasn't deadly and Teto is lying, or that somebody else also targeted Linox?
  22. Cirt added a post in a topic PRIVILEGEWOLF (written and directed by LL)

    This is dumb
Wolves don't attack inactive players because that wouldn't be to their advantage

    ok

also I won as wolf last game. Pretty unlikely that I got to be a wolf again because I hate it
  23. Ganny added a post in a topic PRIVILEGEWOLF (written and directed by LL)

Did Cirt really play like that last game? If she's a privvy I wonder what she gets from telling the truth about her target. If she's not, I wonder what her role can do that would "make him active", while Teto tells us the action against Linox was lethal. I'm fine throwing a vote on the Cirt train as long as these things don't line up. (on phone, cannot red)
  24. Brodongo added a post in a topic PRIVILEGEWOLF (written and directed by LL)

I subconsciously connected a few dots in your reasoning. If i am to believe that you are telling the truth, then i have ill be switching my vote on the basis that Cirt attacked Linox, because thats the only scenario i can think of that allows you to be telling the truth and condemns Cirt.
You didn't do me any favors by explaining this before I had a chance to answer you though.
Aethix and Linox are similar people. They are active on these forums basically just to play werewolf, have similar playstyles, both names end in x, Aethux isnt playing. Question for the town: is there anybody out there that DIDNT think Teto was talking about Linox?
  25. Teto added a post in a topic PRIVILEGEWOLF (written and directed by LL)

I really wish saying Aethix instead of Linox was some grand trick to expose people, but I'm really just that absent minded.
