  1. On Atlus related media; Conception II was announced for 3DS and Vita. It's too bad that the first never came out of Japan. It looks like Conception could be a very fun game. Since the Vita isn't region locked, I might end up importing it after a few years since I can read basic japanese but still makes me a sad panda.

  2. At the risk of getting crucified, I have a question.

I have Assassin's Creed 1, but I have never finished it. I got through four of the assassination targets, realized it was doing the exact same thing over and over, got bored and quit. Is the entire series like this? Assassin's Creed Liberation came with my Vita, but I don't really want to play it since I don't know if it would be like that. If the others are different, should I still force my way through the original for story?

  3. Been playing Persona 3 portable, and I just got to August.

I've also been playing some Bad Company online. Why Bad Company over battlefield 3? Team killing becomes very lolsome, very fast.

  4. !Spoilers for P3P, DeSu 2, and P4A abound!

The parts that seemed really unfair were the following:

Polaris. This is very self explanatory.

It's been long enough so I'll have to describe the bosses:

Aliorth(?) The guy you that had all the poisons in the air and you had to use purifiers. That boss sucked.

Day 7's septentrione. Where you couldn't summon new demons, and it had pacify humans. That got ugly easily.

About in July on P3. I think it's coming along smoothly, and no concerns yet. I'm keeping nicely leveled enough to waste bosses like they mean nothing. I have everything ready to fuse Black Frost once he opens up. Hopefully he'll be as nice as he was to have in P4.

I beat P4A. I have to say it was very interesting. I wonder if the entity at the end was Nycalskfjas(something like that) that opposed Philemon.

  5. This game is going to eat up so my of my life it isn't funny. I'm getting the 3DS Version right off the bat, but probably will hold off on the Wii U version until I have people to play with. I tried both demos, and I have to say if you have camera problems on 3DS quickly tap the L button. It helps. I think the Wii U version is awkward for me since I only have the gamepad. I should probably get a Wii U pro Controller.

  6. I have to say I did like Overclocked more than Devil Survivor 2, but that could be just because Devil Survivor 2 got unfair at moments. I will admit Devil Survivor 2 did add a ton of nice details to the mini series, including a basic social link system. I do kinda agree that Strange Journey was made by a development team that hates everything nice about life, but I haven't played too much of it since I only tried my friend's copy.

P3P is coming along interestingly. I got it in the mail today and started up. The first day available you have to navigate more than the first floor of the Tartarus, I climbed up to floor 13 and started to grind for some money. I wasn't paying attention to details because of the movie I was watching, and ended up being level 16 with about 88k money. I'm about to go to floor 14 and fight the boss.

  7. P3P should be coming in the mail tomorrow and I'm excited to start it up. I also went and preordered Soul Hackers on Monday. It's going to be interesting to play a first person SMT game, but I welcome it. SMT IV got a release date of May 23rd in japan and will have a bundle with a 3DS XL with a unique design. shin_megami_tensei_iv_nintendo_3ds_xl.jp

In summary: SMT is making the 3DS even more awesome. Only Monster Hunter can probably rival my excitement for the time being.

  8. Currently playing through Star Fox Adventures. Considering the last time I played this game was back in 2007, I'm feeling so seriously old playing this right now. I remember back when I first got the game and my mom passed a brick because my dad had the nerve to buy me a T rated game. I don't know why people don't like this game, I found it to be an interesting Zelda/Starfox mix.

Also I'm spending about twenty minutes a day still on City folk, and about another fifteen a day working on the tutorial of how to play Persona 4 Arena. I'll figure it out one day. I swear it.

    Treemotan likes this

  9. I finished P4G last night, getting the true ending and beating the Aeon SLink's bonus dungeon. I have to say that the entire game was amazing, and I am a bit sad that it's over. I did pick up P4A the other day, but I'm not sure if I should play it quite yet as I hear it spoils everything about P3.

In somewhat related news, we're getting close to soul hackers for 3DS. Anyone else excited for it?

  10. I still need to get Persona 3. I've been trying to find it at Graywhale for a while, but I'm thinking of just going amazon for it. I think I'm glad for the Persona branch I started with 4. I expected Persona to be a lot more like Devil Survivor where time wasn't an issue and social links barely existed in the second. If P4 wasn't so forgiving, it would have driven me nuts to figure it out.

  11. I'm considering tracking down Radiant Historia at some point. Probably sometime after I finish Soul Hackers when it comes out.

On Persona 4 Golden, most recently I just saved Naoto. I won both the previous boss battles fairly easily because of Black Frost. I have maxed out Yosuke, Chie, Yukiko, Marie, Doshima, Nanako, and Yumi's social links and i'm working on Rise and the Fox right now(both at 6). Other than fusing Yoshi when I hit 75, anything I need to beware of coming up? (I'm just paranoid after Devil Survivor 2. The Septentriones and the final boss made me rage a lot)

  12. Persona 4 spoilers ho!

I'm currently at July 29th and about to enter Void Quest. My team is currently about 42-40, so I'm not too concerned yet. Anyone who has played this before, anything I should beware of coming up soon? That last story boss almost was in a position to destroy me because I had no idea to bring something to cure silence...

  13. I am currently playing a lot of Metroid. I had never actually tried any Metroid games until about two weeks ago when Pokefan got me Metroid Prime, and now I'm hooked. I'm currently working on Zero mission and waiting for Prime 2 to come in the mail. Also working on Persona 4 Golden for Vita.

  14. Now this is the story

All about how my life got flipped upside down
Now I'd like to take a minute, sit right there,
I'll tell you 'bout how I became champion of a region called Kanto.
In west Pallet Town, born and raised,
Professor Oak's lab's where I spent most of my days,
Study'in on Pokemon and Relaxin' all cool,
Throwin' some pokeballs outside of school.

When Gary Oaks was up to no good.
Started catching pokemon in my neighborhood!
I got in one little battle, and my mom got scared!
And said, " Your taking these running shoes, get outta here"

I begged and pleaded with her day after day

But she healed my pokemon and sent me on my way
She gave me a potion then she gave me my Pokedex I encountered a Ratata, And said Might as well catch it!

In other news, I caught the Kyogre. I caught all 3 weather trio legendary pokemon by SR'ing. NEVER AGAIN.

  15. I have finally noticed one issue with the OS today. When I exit an app, sometimes when it pulls up the home menu about halfway through the icon switching from the disk to the game inside it will stop for about three seconds and contemplate life. Other then that, no real issues still. I think I got lucky.

The current issue I'm having with life is in the F-zero game. It becomes very easy for the gyroscope to become unsynced it seems. Especially when going over the rainbow speed jumps.

    Edit:http://www.zeldainformer.com/news/comments/developers-have-it-wrong-the-wii-u-is-powerful-its-just-next-generation-pow

  16. I personally think that it will be done. First off, Grezzo already has most of the resources done. On top of that, they are in the position to do it and let Nintendo worry about the new titles. Besides, they have yet to keep OOT and MM seperated. Every system(save 3DS so far) that OOT is playable on, so is MM.

  17. This reminds me of the 3DS at launch. It had a slow OS and could freeze a lot too. I think if the 3DS is any indicator though, it should be fixed sometime in January for everyone having issues.

EDIT: If this is true, Nintendo is a wizard.

"But what about the “bricking”: that black screen I mentioned earlier?

Well, since our genius decided to pull the cord out, what he did was put Wii U into “autopilot mode” — not “brick mode”. What this means is that when the console is turned back on, it has no option but to go ahead and download the system update and install it. Since it can’t load the UI (because it was half way through updating it), the user will just see a black screen when in fact the console is actually downloading the update."

  18. I haven't had any freezes at all yet, and I've had at least one 10 hour marathon. I think it's going to vary from console to console it seems...

  19. I was legitimately excited for the Vita before it came out. When I saw the library of games though, it's very meh. The only game that interests me is Persona 4: The golden.

With nintendoland let me say it gets much much more fun with friends, and I've been having megatons of fun with just the pikmin attraction alone.

  20. Nintendo has stated it wouldn't take as long this time to make a Zelda game. It should be coming around 2014ish according to Miyamoto.

  21. In the F-zero game, you hold the gamepad horizantally and then rotate it on an angle so the screen is always facing you.

  22. I got the Wii U deluxe today, and I'm going to share my thoughts:

First off, the U in Wii U stands for updates. If you get a Wii U in the upcoming days, wait until late at night if possible to start it up. Traffic is terrible, and the system update takes anywhere between 2-3 hours to download. To be expected with a new system, so let's move on.

At first the controller is a bit awkward, but you get used to it. For the most part, games project the same thing onto the gamepad and the Television so it is up to you which screen you use. Many games use the gamepad's screen though, so it is advisable to generally watch it. It isn't too heavy, and if possible leave it plugged in all the time. Get used to turning on your system from your controller.

The loading times with the system is really what is currently killing me, although I have faith they will fix this in updates as they did with the 3DS. It can take up to 30 seconds to load the home menu. The home menu will take some getting used to. It is a lot like the 3DS home menu, but some icons you are unable to see what they are unless you click on them if you do not know what they are from 3DS.

I can't say too much about the built in features yet such as miiverse and TVii as they are currently having issues with day 1 traffic. From the games I have played(Nintendo Land and NSMB), I can tell what will determine the fate of the system is how creative they get with games. The system has a lot of potential, more than the Wii ever did, however some aspects can be frustrating. The FZero attraction in nintendo land is a great example of this. How you turn the wii pad to steer can be very awkward compared to how you would think to steer it.

Overall I like the system a lot. I will be posting any more impressions and updates as they come in. Stay frosty.
