  1. About 5 days ago a debug build of Dark Souls was uploaded to steam by accident, before it was updated again the exe of the debug version got uploaded to the web by some people. The only current download I could find of it is on Nexus, you need an account to download from there if you're interested in trying it out:  http://www.nexusmods.com/darksouls/mods/837/? Just make sure to back up your current exe of the game.

Theres a lot of stuff on various websites about what you need to do to mess around with certain stuff, I haven't look into it too much myself or I would probably provide some links, so you'll have to google it, but the coolest thing you can do seems to be the ability to play as almost any NPC, including enemies and bosses:

  2. I beat the main story of The Last of Us Remastered last night, was a really good game, going to start the DLC soon, I heard it's supposed to be great.

Also playing a tiny bit of the first Phoenix Wright and Grand Theft Auto V on the side.

  3.

New Bloodborne trailer out from tonight's Video Game Awards.

Game is looking really bloody, also theres going to be some more Bloodborne footage tomorrow around 5 PST / 8 EST as part of the Playstation Experience stream Sony is doing this weekend.

Nevermind, just saw on the Playstation Blog that Bloodborne isn't being streamed tonight, I guess that video Muffin linked below is all we're getting from this event, the Chalice Dungeon seems pretty interesting.

  4. Wow literally stole my idea for this thread after I said it in chat, anyway this arrived from Amazon today. Couldn't pass up 2 extra games for the normal price of a PS4, and GTAV and TLOU are supposed to be the best reviewed games on the system, which is kind of bad being that they're both remasters. Whatever though, I'm ready for Bloodborne when it comes out. In the meantime, besides the 2 included games I have 10+ downloadable games to play from having a PS Plus trial earlier this year.

  5. Steam is having their "Exploration" sale, a ton of stuff is on sale, like the amount of stuff that is normally on sale during holiday sales, for the next 40 hours from the time of this post, check your wishlist, I bet over half of it is on sale right now

  6. Dark Souls II: Scholar of the First Sin has been announced for PS4, Xbox One, PS3, Xbox 360 and PC for release on April 7, 2015

FROM SOFTWARE have announced that the definitive edition of Dark Souls II will be coming to PC, PS4 and Xbox One in April 2015. It will include updated visuals, rebalanced gameplay, a higher maximum number of players for online play, new and deadlier enemies, a brand new NPC to discover, expanded lore and new in-game events.

The game also has the Crown of the Sunken King, Crown of the Old Iron King, and Crown of the Ivory King DLC included.

It's kind of like the Prepare to Die edition of Dark Souls II I guess, and I'm guessing the version on Steam will be replaced by this. First time the game will be released on PS4 and Xbox One of course. A month after Bloodborne has been released on PS4 too. I doubt I'll be picking this up right away since I beat the original back in March but since I haven't shelled out $30 to play the Dark Souls II DLC yet I might pick it up down the line, I don't know.

  7. Ok so Toy Story 4 is a thing, I'm not sure how to feel about this

    http://insidemovies.ew.com/2014/11/06/john-lasseter-will-direct-toy-story-4-breaking/

I think Toy Story 3 provided a great conclusion to the series and proved that there could be a trilogy with almost perfect reviews all across the board. I have enjoyed the Toy Story shorts they've done since then but I don't think we need another full length movie. Pixar doesn't have the track record they used to have so I'll be a bit skeptical for now, but it could be good.

  8. This is great, Nintendo is coming out with too much good shit lately, my wallet can't handle it

They should have thrown in some Song of Healing or something as far as the music goes.

  9. I'm really liking it so far, parts 1 and 2 came on last night, 3 and 4 are coming on tonight, there are downloads out for the entire series already because they sold the entire thing on iTunes and other services before it even aired on tv, I don't really like it when companies do that.

    Edit:

Just finished watching 3 and 4 on CN, oh god this show is really great, I'm really liking the music, CN uploaded the full versions of all the music to their Youtube, like this great song from ep 3

  10. So Tappy posted this on chat, apparently Marvel released the Age of Ultron teaser trailer early

Almost everything looks amazing but I'm not sure if I like the look of Ultron himself

I mean look at this, one of Ultron's drones in the trailer

    hqCxzxj.jpg

This is exactly what I would have expected Ultron to look like (but with Red lights instead of Blue of course)

But then you look at Ultron himself

    E8mZrJ2.jpg

I'm not sure how I feel about this, it doesn't look bad, it's just not how I imagine Ultron you know, and the animation his face has brings Michael Bay's Transformer movies to mind.

I know the Movies have had different designs from the comics and such before but this one will take me some getting used to. I guess if he was done in the former way his face would be too static to be menacing maybe? Whatever the case, it's kind of weird to look at. Like I said, I found the rest of the trailer pretty amazing.

    THAT HULKBUSTER!

  11. There is a PS3 emulator in development called RPCS3 but it's so early in development that it will be years before it can play Demon's Souls, at the moment it can only handle like 2 retail games and they run very slowly from what I've read about it

  12. I thought the CG was pretty ugly in the first movie during scenes where they had to have a lot of characters on the screen, like in almost all of the battles. I guess I got used to it by the second movie because there's not any jarring CG that pops into my head outside of a certain scene that was only in the movie and not any other Berserk stuff. I think it was used best for animating monsters, like in the third movie. The third movie was pretty great in general.

Anyone here read Vinland Saga? I always see it being compared to the Golden Age of Berserk and decided to give it a read recently, I caught up to the latest chapter today and it's pretty good. It's just as violent as Berserk but there's no supernatural elements. I'd say it's worth a read if you're not focusing on some other manga at the moment.

  13. Berserk:

Ever since the Friday before last I've been watching and reading Berserk stuff

I've watched the anime series, read the manga (up to Vol 37/Ch 333) and watched the movies (all in that order)

Going to put all my thoughts in a spoiler because I feel very limited otherwise

Anime: Ok I went into this with the dub, helped get a lot of great voices into my head for when I was going to get to the manga. Great show, I had no idea if it had been adapted correctly until much later of course, but I think it adapted the Golden Age arc better than anything else. I suppose most of the cut content was stuff that was too sexual, and that's fine. Puck not being in the first episode wasn't too big a deal, I guess they didn't want to show the audience a character they would never see in the show again. The last duel between Guts and Griffith with the sun rising up behind them was great. After this the anime seemed to stop adapting things as well since they didn't have much time left to get to the eclipse I guess, the ending really would have pissed me off though if I didn't know other Berserk stuff existed.

Manga: Easily the best of the Berserk media since it is the original and all, I love this shit. I actually finished catching up with it just last night. I never imagined the story would have this great cast of characters that it does now. The chemistry between Guts, Isidro, Schierke, Farnese and Serpico is great, and I suppose Isma will be part of the group now too? Maybe. Schierke might be my favorite of the characters who have joined Guts. I like all of Puck's little costumes he wears in his chestnut form, some of them looked silly enough to make me laugh at times. His Yoda moments are great too, I know the author loves Star Wars. Another character I love is the Skull Knight, he's always showing up and doing cool shit. Also, man the armor designs in this are bad ass. The Berserker armor is awesome, I ended up saving several pages that had the armor in it just because they looked so good. I mostly love it when it is the berserk mode, but the version of it when Guts is in control looks decent too. Can't think of much more to say at the moment, but now I can join in the pain of waiting for more chapters.

Movies: I finished watching these today. You know I liked them for adapting some of the stuff that was missing, like the great moment with Guts cutting off the torturer's tongue and acting like he can't understand him, but there is just so much stuff I have a problem with. First, the CG, jesus christ. Every battle is filled with the shit, probably a lot cheaper that way, and I suppose that's fine since they cut so much of the battles and got almost every single one of them done with in the first movie except for Doldrey and the one before it. The 2D animation in these movies was great to me though, and I'm glad the final duel between Guts and Griffith had almost no CG. Secondly, the scenes they added it, when you're skipping so many battles in the first movie why do you add this drawn out dancing scene that was made up just for the movie, that scene was painful to watch. And they randomly added Farnese and Serpico which was like, uhhhh ok? Third movie was probably the best. The Skull Knight on the big screen, and his voice wasn't too far off from the sort of voice I was imagining in my head. Speaking of voices, so many of the VAs returned for the dub, that was really great. Kind of upsetting that the battle with the monster in the forest wasn't adapted for the third movie though.

I suppose the main reason I wanted to get into this series was that the Berserk gear being in Dragon's Dogma reminded me how influential this series has been for some of my favorite games like Demon's Souls and Dark Souls.

  14. Just going to post about some stuff I've watched in the last 2 months

Code Geass: I really enjoyed this show. The story and characters were interesting. The mecha designs and mecha battles were great too. The first OP and second ED were really great, I wish the rest of the music had been as memorable.

I can't believe there are so many differing opinions online about whether or not Lelouch is really dead, like why is that a thing. Also Nina was an annoying characer, maybe she was written that way though.

I also watched the first 2 Akito OVAs because I couldn't believe they're as bad as Muffin says. But then they actually were pretty mediocre to me. The CG just doesn't look good with the rest of the animation and the characters are nowhere near interesting as the ones on the original show.

Death Note: I thought this show was pretty good too. The "battles" between L and Light were the highlight of the show. I actually watched the dub of this one, Brad Swaile is always a good dub actor and the actor for Ryuk sounded really good for the role too. The second OP and ED were kind of bad though and I ended up skipping them almost every time. I think the show might be bit overrated though overall.

L was way too smart to even be a believable character at some points, like he could guess something was happening while it was happening. After L died, Light lost almost every single one of his battles so it wasn't really surprising for him to lose in the end anyway.

Mobile Suit Gundam: I watched the original series and not the movies for this. I watched the dub for this one too and Brad Swaile was the main character again. It reminded me of watching old action cartoons on boomerang and stuff when I was younger in a way. I thought it was a good show for the most part. The only thing that annoyed me is that sometimes characters did really stupid things out of nowhere in some episodes. I'm still going to watch the movies one day and I plan to get into other Gundam series too.

Hitsugi no Chaika: This is a good show too, it is actually a show from one or two seasons ago but I stopped watching it for no reason. The characters are the highlight of the show to me. It's hard to have a full opinion on it until it ends, a second series is coming next season and the light novel series it is based on is still ongoing.

  15. Yeah I decided to get Dragon's Dogma too, the percentage taken off the price is a lot bigger than Okami's since DD is usually $40 on PSN.

I started playing it last night, pretty fun so far

  16. This is a thread I've been wanting to make for a while but never got around to it, I'm not going to post every sale and every bundle that is going on at all times, but sometimes there are some really great ones. This isn't really one of those times but I wanted to post this anyway.

(Also if you really did want to see all bundles going on at all times, this is a really good site for that http://bundlehq.com/ )

Okami HD and Dragon's Dogma Dark Arisen are both $7 on PSN right now and I'm having a hard time deciding if I should get one or both, the thing is I just bought all of the Deus Ex games on Steam last night since they're so cheap right now.

Heres the latest PSN update for other PSN sales (in North America anyway): http://blog.us.playstation.com/2014/09/16/playstation-store-update-360/

I can't really think of too many notable games on sale right now, but maybe others will contribute some time

  17. Yeah the demo is pretty decent, I'm sure it's really great if you know someone to play with locally. Wish it had online multiplayer. After I've played with all 5 characters I feel a little bored of it now.

I really like playing as Villager though

Also they're playing Smash on Nintendo's Twitch RIGHT NOW
