    Discuss the spin-off starring every Zelda fan's favorite NPC

    ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
    Ok I've had this game for a while now and I finally beat it today, I had gotten to the final boss around this time last year, lost to the boss, and then didn't pick it up until now. My older brother picked me up a copy of this when he went to Italy 4 years ago. He knows I'm a big Zelda fan (and I told him that you could find it there, hint hint), so I expected that if he actually managed to find a copy, he would get it for me. But anyway, on the to the game.
    The only plot detail's I'll into is a short premise. Tingle is told by a man named Uncle Rupee that he needs to collect rupees to reach Rupeeland, where you can gain true happiness, this involves Tingle doing various tasks like defeating enemies, selling items, getting paid for returning an item to a character, etc, etc. Rupees are everything in this game, they're your money and your health. There's multiple continents you can explore, none of them look the same. You can also recruit a body guard who will help you defeat enemies.
    Let me get into some of the cons of the game, because it isn't exactly perfect. Some people might not like the combat on the game, upon touching an enemy, combat takes place in a cloud of smoke with limbs popping out every which way, like on an old cartoon. You tap the cloud to attack, its weird, but you get used to it. Another thing is when someone asks you for an amount of rupees when you're buying certain things you have to be in the right range of numbers, if you're out of range they still take your rupees. When you're selling certain things, they'll only give you one rupee if you go out of range.
    You need to play this game at least one time if you're a Zelda fan. The art is good, the music is good, the characters are good, the story isn't bad either. I give it, at the very least, a 7/10. If you're an American Zelda fan, importing a copy from Europe or buying one from someone else who has imported shouldn't run you more than $30-$40. If you're a European Zelda fan, why don't you own it yet?
    Anyway, hopefully someone here besides me has played it, and we can discuss it. I'm glad most, if not all, of Hyrule.net's users are mature enough to not find Tingle to be the worst thing ever included in a Zelda game.
    (Also if a Mod could center the image above, I'd be thankful, can't seem to do it on my tablet)
    Personality: quiet, but commanding.
    Background: being dropped in the desert and raised by Gerudo thieves, until they threw me out with nothing but wood to build a hut and 7 knives. I was eventually located by other Hylians but chose to stay. The monitored me and put me in the HSS (Hyrule Spy Society) since no one else wanted to goto the desert. I only leave the desert twice a year to meet with the HSS. My only company, a Stalfos that I trained
    What was that again I can't remember. It was full of really ugly birds, the occa or something, which were probably evolved chickens, demonstrating how badly wrong evolution can go.
    But like, there was some flying city. It was in some other games right? Was it? What was that about anyway. Was it in Wind Waker after Hyrule got flooded, sitting on top of the waves like "can't sink me yolo"
    Here's a hip new discussion for the modern day.
    I was always against Super Hero registration, even back when they wanted Mutants to do it.
    As for AvX, I really haven't decided yet. But I'm leaning towards The Avengers.
    I'm currently focusing all my comic time on Spider-Man Ends of the Earth.
    What do you think of Flash Thompson as Agent Venom?
    I opened a Ghirahim fan forum to the public with one of my friends earlier today. Whether you love him or hate him, there's a place for you on there. We have two clans: those who side with Link, and those who side with Ghirahim. These clans are pretty much the heart of the forum, its livelihood, so we need users! In the clan areas, you may partake in casual conversation with Link (me) or Ghirahim (my friend), and tell tales (essentially a cross between fanfics and role playing). It's Sky Children and Demons. You can stir up trouble by entering the demon section if you sided with Link, and vice versa! Just a place to have fun. But members! We need members!
    Your clan is a registration field, by the way. Required.
    The standard package is all there. Parts for general gaming discussion/any discussion, a part dedicated to Ghirahim fan art, etc. A NSFW section as well, which is obviously age-restricted.
    So it occurs to me that I'm kind of a jerk and have developed a nasty habit of just completely dropping out of existence without any sort of warning, sheerly due to several-month-long funks in which I hate everyone and everything and instead of finding a positive outlet, I just go total asocial and limit social interaction to a small handful of people and situations that make me even more hateful. And asocial. And then the funk lifts and I then find it awkward to go back to the places I (semi)frequented.
    Which is to say, said funk has now (semi)lifted and I've decided to come back here. And just randomly popping back without any fort of re-introduction for anyone that's joined since I vanished from the internet seems awfully rude, so...
    Hello again, Hnet. The Tree is still standing tall. Good to see you folks again.
    For the sake of trying to liven up this board a bit, who is your favorite LoZ NPC? And not just any NPC, but one that doesn't effect the story at all. One that could be left out and nobody would miss them. They can be characters that provide flavor text, pointless shop keepers or even trivial mini game hosts, but remember, these people dont matter at all!
    My favorite character of this category is probably David Jr of The Wind Waker and Minish Cap, but since i havent played the later, i'll just talk about his role in WW.
    OH WAIT, THERE ISNT ONE. He literally just sits there and spins the Tingle Tower along with his companion (co-worker?) Ankle. He's one of the Tingle Brothers, except get this, he isnt related to Tingle or the other two.
    Also, according to his figurine description, he is 17, a treasure hunter, and was born on Windfall island.
    Also i want this in my room:
    So back in high school there was a fun browser game called "Dino Run" and soon after that it become an online multiplayer game as well. Dino Run is a pretty pixel game where you play as a raptor-thing, racing against the apocalypse and other players. Now I totally forgot all about this game until today when i learned about the Dino Run 2 Kickstarter. It looks pretty cool, with different dinosaurs to play as, but for now, I propose we play some Dino Run together! I'll try to get on skype tonight after work (around midnight EST) and maybe we can race each other? I think that'd be fun.
    I'm really excited to play this one. It's a good fit for the fun-with-perspective Nintendo has been focusing on to really sell the 3DS graphics. I suspect there won't be a really groundbreaking story in this one, but it's sure to be fun.
    I just worry that Nintendo isn't willing to take big chances with their existing franchises this generation, and that they'll just keep recycling ideas from previous titles.
    Hi. I'm M. Bulteau (Berlioz, around here). I'm a composer/writer, and I have my work online:
    www.mbulteau.com
    Far from being here to spam you, take that as a portfolio for your reference towards what I would like an opinion on from the community.
    I have long delved into the depths of Majora's Mask dramatic possibilities, and being a composer/writer I am currently considering (after having enough material to start) creating a stage work of Majora's Mask, something big, serious (as in, professional), powerful and with one or two modifications that I assure change nothing of the story's core concepts at all. In fact they bring out the drama in full and allow for a stable adaptation to stage, instead of the many flaws that arise from taking a game structure into a dramatic set without the necessary reconstruction.
    Musically speaking it would also avoid reducing itself to medley form. I would try my best to develop on every theme, taking them as bases to be grown on and to make a complete and organic work, instead of a patched-up musical track.
    I would need to gather up all the available resources to write a score that would please me and all the other Zelda fans.
    The hardest part would obviously be, afterwards, attempting to contact the actual composer, showing the product, and asking for his approval, perhaps his support, in having the work built and brought to life, for we all know an artist trying to climb always needs help from above, especially if they are using the work of those above as a vital basis. It is always a win-win situation, since artistic reinterpretations of any established medium always validate its existence further (a.k.a. mutual advertisement et al.).
    I have my original work, both writings and compositions, as evidence of what I can do, and I am usually not one to make these kinds of adapted projects, but Zelda is something that has always fascinated me, and Majora's Mask is the one that always dug deepest.
    I would like to know if the community would be interested in seeing such a project built.
    Cheers,
    M. Bulteau
    I hate that I really only have a Kotaku/Polygon source to go by, but if you check your 3DS, you'll notice that SwapNote's online functionality has been removed as of 10pm last night.  There were supposedly complaints from parents about users sending inappropriate messages to their children. The local services weren't removed, just the online.
    Nintendo announced in today’s Nintendo Direct that a new Zelda game for the 3DS is in the works and is slated for December 2013. The game is said to be taken in the same world as A Link to the Past and will feature “layered gameplay,” by allowing Link to jump up to another level of a dungeon.
    More details and image gallery after the jump!
    One of the new additions to the game will be, that Link will be able to make himself a movable painting on a wall, allowing him to reach places he has not been able to get to before.
    The game is set to be released this year in December, but we will see if Nintendo can uphold its due date. I expect we will see more game footage this come E3 in a few months, as well as The Wind Waker Remastered and possibly Legend of Zelda Wii U.
    Okay so I have two other threads under my old account so if an admin wants to lock or destroy them that's cool. I'd like that.
    Anyways, I guess I'll post a few pictures here when I draw. I'm trying to draw more so hopefully this will help keep me active. Here is the first one.
    It's based on this picture-
    There are so many problems with the drawing, but overall, I'm pretty satisfied (at least for now) considering how much of a challenge i found it to be. I like to both exaggerate and simplify various features to give kinda a cartoon feel to my art. But yeah, there are still so many problems with this picture, especially the angle of stuff like his hands and my face. I think it's a good start though. Any advice?
