Vincent jumped slightly when Ulia came from what seemed like nowhere, his skin just turning only a hint of pale from the sudden shock she gave him. He was breathing a bit deeply, before saying in a, hardly noticable, annoyed voice, "Warn me next time you do something like that, okay...?" He spoke, before hearing that it was roughly time for them to get moving to Castle Town, which he went along with; making sure that his color returned beforehand.

When they reached the east gate, he saw that the guard on duty and Darius speak, but Vincent kept to himself; knowig better than to interrupt a conversation with business he originally didn't take part of. He asked to go with them though, so that would only mean that he wanted to go for the heck of things, not for the money as some people may think. He didn't mind being an apprentice of Smithy's; he got paid fairly well if he delivered any weapons on time like they're supposed to, and even if he was late, he still ot paid decently, even though he tries to aim for the highest payroll available.

When Darius went in to speak with the noble, he could barely make ot what they were saying, and apprantly, the noble wasn't too proud of what Darius and the co. did with the treaty with the Deku. And, after a while, Vincent became a little surprised when he heard someone, Darius probably, began to yell in what seemed like another language, which had him honestly confused about the whole thing. When the guards came out with Darius in hand, Vincent knew that whatever he was saying, was probably outright anger, and he didn't even want to know what he said to the man. Besides, when Ulia asked him what he said, Darius only said that he said a lot of things, and heard him apologize about the pay.

When he heard this, Vincent shook his head a bit, showing that it was okay that they wouldn't get paid. "It's okay Darius; I only wanted to come because I wanted to see Ordon again, and to try in help in any way I could. I, at least, never intended in wanting to be paid for something that I wanted to do, and besides, I always get paid from Smithy whenever I run an errand for him, so it's not like I'm missing out on much, right?" He spoke, his words being honest; which was basically more than ninety percent of the time; it was really rare for him to lie, and when he did, he would always come clean about it the next day or something.

"Thanks, Vincent. That means a lot to me. I am really sorry for lashing out like that in the Noble's Language that most of you wouldn't even understand. Well, I might have done you a favor, you probably did not want to hear what I said, anyway. Some of us needed to be paid, though. I know my father will be angry at me for spending a lot of money and not even bringing back any in return. I have really, really, dug myself a bit of a hole here. What that nobleman said, however, got to me. He cheated us, and told us that he would have preferred the genocide of a culture that we have not even seen before. The genocide of a race that did not even harm us. All for one little spec on the map." Darius stood up and brushed off, ashamed of where he was. "I need to speak with my father."

They walked through Upper Castle Town, and up to the Garrel house. It was a bit large for an Upper Castle Town home.

"My father is a banker," Darius began to explain, "but not just a banker. He owns many banks, many stores, across Castle Town. He is in a middle field between noble and upperclassman. Wait here, I will ask if it is alright for you to come in. Do not worry, my father is a good man." Darius walked in, and some speaking could be heard through the door. A few seconds passed, and the door opened again. "Alright, you may come in," Darius told them with a smile.

"Welcome, welcome," Darius's father, Hal, assured them. He was a tad bit shorter than Darius, but with a fuller beard and some grey hairs. His voice was much like his son's, and his clothes were a bit more proper, a bit more lavish. "Have a seat at our table," he smiled.

When Vincent heard Darius begin to explain to him and the rest of the group, the two words, "Noble's Language" had a slight ringing in his ear, almost as if he heard it somewhere before. "Noble's... Language...? Why does that... sound so familiar...?" He muttered to himself, and only himself, trying to remember where he last heard those words. Unfotunately, they had to keep going, but Vincent remained in thought; wondering about why those words were so familiar to im, when all this time, he spent a large majority of his life in a small village, quite a ways away from any nobles. He had forgotten that his parents were once nobles, as Smithy told him, and they had gone for a travel, and left him in the man's care until they returned; that was twenty-one years ago when he first met Smithy. Since he turned 16, however, he seemed to have just comletely forgotten about them; but since that same day he forgot about them, he paid better respect for those who are desceased, and had spent frequent visits o the Kakariko graveyard.

Why he was connected to kowing what Darius meant about the Noble's Language, he may never know for while, but until then, he guessed that he should only spend time to think about it when he would have to sleep. Right now, he had to focus on what was going on, and when the man who seemed a lot like Darius told the company to have a seat, Vincent remained standing, trying his best to keep his mind off of what he was wondering about.

Kira had just followed and watched most of the time. When they met with the noble, she had stood far back. Noble language hit her ears and she had to cringe. The noble had looked familiar... She smiled a bit of a crooked smile when she saw Darius' father. He had barely changed since the last time she saw him, still kind and familiar feeling. She walked up to him, not too close but not too far. "Hello, it's nice to see you again," Her happiness showed obviously in her voice, "I hope you remember me, though it's been a few years."

Saka held out his hand somewhat. "Pleased to meet you... Signor, I believe it was? Thank you for allowing us 'commoners' into your fine household. Apologies if that was too sarcastic."

Darius, Hal, and those who chose to, sat at the table, which had a bowl of fruits in the center.

"Please, help yourself," Hal told them.

"Oooooh," Ulia cheered, grabbing an apple.

"Father, I need to tell you something," Darius began with a bit of a sigh.

"What is it, Darius?"

"I, ah, spent a lot of money."

"How much, exactly?"

"About six-twenty."

A slight look of disgust began to blur Hal's face. "Why? Why have you done this?"

"I wanted to make sure that we had proper equipment."

Hal's face began to calm, understanding forming in his mind. "I see. I do not appreciate this, and you will be on a budget from now on, but I see why you did it. I hope you at least brought some money back from your trip. You took a job, did you not?"

This was the moment Darius was dreading. The moment where he pretty much came in and told his father that he had failed. "No. I have not."

The look of disgust was back, with reinforcements to back it up. Hal leaned forward and looked his son in the eye. "You mean to tell me that you have spent so much money, yet brought none back in return? Che cosa è questo, figliolo? Hai non vogliono essere un avventuriero? Si può non fare il tuo lavoro?"

"I did do my job! It's that bastardo Malro who refuses to pay me!"

"Why?"

"Because we are not mindless grunts. We were told to solve the problem that was halting expansion into the southeast. The problem, which we learned of ourselves, was that the escorts for the explorers were captured by a race that calls itself Deku. They did not harm the guards, but they held them prisoner. We were taken to their kingdom in the forest, where we saw their culture. We negotiated peace with them, and opened doors for Hyrule to trade and share culture. The only thing they wanted in return was assurance that the forest around their little area would not be taken from them, and that they would be able to stay where they were. Malro acts as though he specified what he wanted me to do to solve the problem. He refuses to pay me because I did not think with my sword the entire way. We even killed some of them, and they wished to negotiate peace still. The way Malro puts it, he wanted me to commit genocide with no regard for a culture that I had just began to see, to not even give the peaceful Deku a chance. He even said that he would have preferred it."

"I agree with what you did, Darius. I agree completely. I never liked Malro. He is an example of the worst kind of noble."

"Father, there is one more thing. I couldn't control myself, and I lashed out in the Noble Language."

Hal stood up. "Sciocca! Perché, figlio?! Perché?! Ben presto, i bastardi sarà abbattere la mia porta, chiedendo che devo fare qualcosa perché delle vostre azioni. Come hai potuto essere così sciocca, figliolo?! Come!?"

Ulia stopped eating her apple. Like father, like son, she thought. "Umm... Mr. Garrel? I'm sorry to butt in, but this Malro cheated Darri over. I think he had a right to be angry."

"Darri?" Darius repeated, a little... He didn't even know how to describe the emotion.

"Yeah, Darri. I thought it sounded cute. Plus, I like seeing the look on your face when I say it," she giggled.

"Umm... Yeah..." Darius scratched the back of his head.

"Your friend, umm... Miss?" Hal asked, unsure of what to call her.

"Ulia. I'm Ulia, the daughter of the Ordonian Swordsman."

"Ah, I see. Is that not the sword that belonged to your father, and his father before him?"

"Umm... Yeah! How'd you know?" She relaxed, continuing to eat her apple.

"I have done business with your father in the past. When I complimented that beautiful sword he carried, he told me that it has been used by his family for generations. An heirloom. Does this mean that you are to be his successor? To protect the village as the first female swordsman?

"Maybe. I don't know. I left the village to be an adventurer, it's what I've wanted to do ever since I was a little girl."

"Ah, I see. We all make our own lives."

"That's pretty much what my parents said."

"Father," Darius began, "he had just told me that he would have preferred genocide. The destruction of a race."

"Yes, Darius, I understand," Hal calmed, sitting down. "However, We must talk about your budget."

"Yes, but I need to get something from my room. May I?"

"Very well."

"Thanks. I will be right back. Hey, you might be able to get to know some people here," Darius told him, getting up and going upstairs.

((Huge wall of text, I know. Sorry.))

((Although, you might notice that I chose Italian for the Noble Language. To be honest, I forgot about Ancient Hylian when I made that decision. Dark's post made me remember it. I chose Italian, though, because the real-world Renaissance had its origins in Italy.))

((Also, I'm not fluent in the language, so Amen for Google Translate! :embarrassed: ))

((Yeah, I noticed.))

"Well, then, sir. It seems we've been more of a drain on your resources than anything. Although..." Here he looked at the ceiling for a moment, and continued, "If you act quickly, and invest right, you could become the only banker working in the area around the Deku, and be there to help facilitate trade." Another pause, a sigh, and, "But what do I know, eh, signore?"

((oh, and Jo. What's the state of magic in this world?))

"Nothing has really changed here, the good or the bad, has it?" Looking around the house, she took one of the smaller pieces of fruit and bit into it. She got lost in thought for a moment before turning to look at Hal. Her smile had dissipated. "The nobles, they still make people suffer."

((The only wide use of magic is in the medical field, where people brew up magical potions and such. Hyrule has fallen out of touch with the fairies that used to roam it, though. You never see them around. Great Fairies are gone. Kinda sad, actually. There isn't any wide knowledge of magic's combat uses. Only the very high, trusted nobles, and few knights, are allowed to know of it. The Deku might have some touch with it, though.))

"You are wise," Hal told the Zora. "I just might do that. Thank you." He paused, and looked at the girl. "Yes, you are correct. Sad, is it not? I wish the nobility actually had nobility these days. At least the knights know honor. I, myself, know morality, and you can see how successful I am. I am not trying to milk the people with morality, but they like morals. They like it when a endorses such things, and it is a fresh change among the wealthy. I do not understand why it is so uncommon." He paused, and looked at the group as a whole. "What are your names, anyway? Where are you all from?"

"Kira Raylin," Kira said, voice kind of quiet again, "We used to be neighbors." Her eyes hooked to his, trying to convey to him to keep quiet about her past here. She didn't want to talk about it right now...

"I am Saka, I was a bartender at The Silver Rupee in town. I have no living relatives to my knowledge, and I am currently unaware of my origins."

"I see, good to see you again, Kira. I hope these past years have treated you well." He got the message. "The Silver Rupee, you say?" He asked, his head to Saka. "I have actually heard good things about it. Nice to meet you, Saka."

"You've already met me," Ulia remarked, reaching for another apple.

Hal chuckled. "Darri... Hehe... I will never let him live that one down."

"Me neither," she laughed before she took a bite out of the new apple.

((Alrighty then.))

Darius finally came back into the room, wearing now wearing a black button vest over his untucked white shirt. It had white-silverish lining that was similar to his filigree pattern shirt that he was wearing before he went up there. There was an obvious change of clothes, too. It was identical, but it was clean.

"Pssh. At least you get a change of clothes," Ulia remarked, taking another bite.

"How many apples are you going to eat?" He asked, rubbing the back of his neck.

"As many as I can, Darri."

Darius shook his head, puffed, and leaned over a little bit. "Well, I guess we need to go. Thank you, father."

"Not so fast, boy."

"Oh man, the budget."

"Correct. Have a seat."

Darius sat next to his father. "Alright, how much?"

"Three hundred. That should be enough for potions and food to last you and your friends a month."

Darius' greedy side wanted to complain, but his father was right. "Alright. Thank you, father," he surrendered, taking the rupees that his father allowed him.

"Bring back some money, now. You owe me. You, not your friends."

"Yes, father," Darius huffed.

"Woah now, is there a problem with that? You know, we could cover the whole debt, you see. There is a lot you will need to cover from over the years of room and board. And we have yet to even cut into the clothes and other valuables that I have bought for you."

"Oh, no, it's quite alright, father! Don't worry, I will be getting your money in as soon as I can!"

Ulia chuckled. "That seemed easy enough," she remarked.

"Hey, he could make you pay, too!"

"I didn't choose to spend that money. You're the one that offered to pay."

Darius let out an irritated sigh, but he got up and admitted defeat. "Alright, you guys, we have to get a job before late afternoon. Let's get going."

"Righto." said Saka as he stood from the table and opened the door for the rest of the party. "I hope to see your work the next time we go to the Deku kingdom, Sir."
