Posted 23 Apr 2013 (edited) Cascade, it's okay. "Gay" is the new fashion trend. Or so I'm told by Hollywood. Gosh it's like having a gay friend is a trendy accessory now. Wait, what about panromantic asexual friends? Do they count? Posted 25 Apr 2013 Also who else is annoyed when people say "2K13" Like, we only did that in 2000 to 2009 because it saved typing an extra character, but 2K13 requires the same effort as typing 2013. Get your shit together everyone. SilverAlchemic and Treemotan like this
Posted 26 Apr 2013 did people actually say 2K9 and stuff? I've only heard a year referred to as "K" when like, talking about that Y2K virus.
Posted 26 Apr 2013 Yeah it was barely used even then. But I've still been seeing it now. Come to think of it it's used more now than I ever remember it being used. It's really just a trend thing.
Posted 26 Apr 2013 Speaking of annoying trends, I really hate it when people say "Turkey Day" for Thanksgiving I didn't hear it much last Thanksgiving, so hopefully I don't hear it all this Thanksgiving.
Posted 26 Apr 2013 I've jokingly referred Thanksgiving as "Food Day" before, but never "Turkey Day". Might be because I don't really like Turkey all that much. And it sounds stupid even in a joking context. Still isn't as annoying as "swag" or "YOLO", though. It is pretty funny though when you point out to people that "swag party" used to be slang for "gay orgy". Especially when you live in a mostly-conservative area. Posted 26 Apr 2013 Swag and yolo are just fun to say. If it's such a big problem for you that other people enjoy using "in the moment" slang, then you are clearly in need of some problems. First World issues much?
Posted 26 Apr 2013 It's not like it's a big problem. I just think it sounds idiotic. Another issue could simply be the people saying it; for reasons I don't wish to elaborate on, I pretty much hate all but a few select individuals in my district, or at the very least don't trust them. I can assure you I have plenty of legitimate problems. I just don't feel like elaborating on them since I don't want to turn this into a whine-fest.
