Posted 24 Sep 2012 China won't get in a war with the U.S. for multiple reasons. Reason 1: Our military is superior. What China has is quantity, we have in quality. Reason 2: The U.S. owes China a large amount. "As of May 2011 the largest single holder of U.S. government debt was China, with 26 percent of all foreign-held U.S. Treasury securities (8% of total U.S. public debt)." It's just weird that Campbell said we would stick by them if this is just a no biggie. this is actually something thats been in the japanese constitution since WWII, when america basically banned them from having a military of any sort and japan would basically be americas pet. theyve got the SDF now, but are completely forbidden from going to war, etc. in exchange, america basically promised that if japan got attacked, america would stomp down on the offenders. the pet thing isnt really a thing anymore, as after the war, america helped boost japans economy, which then took off to the point that america got all jealous and huffy about it, reversed the exchange rate, and after a depression, japan came back, and has been basically doing its own thing since.
